Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying (HIB) Self-Assessment District & School Grade Report

In the fall of 2022, the School Safety/School Climate Teams (SS/SCT) for each of the schools in the Tewksbury Township Schools completed the New Jersey Department of Education's Self-Assessment for Determining Grades under the Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act of 2011. The results of this self-assessment were based on data and practices implemented during the 2021-2022 school year.

Each SS/SCT rated the 32 self-assessment indicators on a scale of 0 to 3 (0-Does Not Meet Requirements, 1-Partially Meets the Requirements, 2-Meets All Requirements, 3-Exceeds the Requirements). The highest possible score is 78 points. Tewksbury Elementary School and Old Turnpike School are meeting or exceeding the requirements on all indicators.

Based on the results of this self-assessment, the district has been focusing on the following initiatives:

  • Continued celebration of the Week of Respect
  • Focus on demonstrating respect to others, our school and ourselves
  • Continued vigilance in training of all staff in the best practices of the Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act (ABBR)
  • Ongoing meetings between the ABC and ABS in each building, as well as meetings of the SS/SCT in each building to examine progress in the schools, ensure best practices in HIB prevention, and encourage a climate of respect and rapport in each school
  • Continued implementation of programs to meet the social and emotional learning needs of our students
  • Continued enrichment through the counseling programs offered in each school
