• Middle School Math Placement


    The process of math placement at the middle school level ensures each student experiences both success and challenge in mathematics.

    Students are placed into Math Courses in grade 8 based on the following criteria: 

    1. Classroom Performance (Annual Summative Average)
    2. End of Year Final Assessment reflective of grade level content and skills
    3. NWEA MAP- Measures of Academic Progress Reading Assessment
    4. Teacher Recommendation based on student performance and demonstrated work habits

    Algebra I (8th): curriculum and instruction incorporates both grade level New Jersey Student Learning Standards as well as a strong focus on mastery of advanced Algebraic Concepts.

    8th Grade Math: curriculum and instruction is based on grade level New Jersey Student Learning Standards which includes Algebraic Concepts.
