Technology Plan
A revision to our three-year technology plan reaffirms our commitment to the use of educational technology. The revised plan provides aggressive goals and objectives designed to dramatically use technology to facilitate students’ mastery of content standards and accelerate student achievement in all academic areas.

It presents specific recommendations on:

Using technology as a powerful tool to support the professional practice of the instructional staff including planning, instructing, assessing, and communicating.

Using technology for ongoing diagnostic assessments of student Reading, Language Arts, and Mathematics ability.

Using technology to increase the efficiency of administrative functions.

Providing comprehensive, aggressive, and differentiated training to staff members.

Making the technological rich resources of Old Turnpike School available to students, staff, and parents via the internet.

Current efforts in staff development, technology, and curriculum revision, coupled with motivated students, positive parents, and dedicated teachers and administrators will prepare the way for even stronger program innovation in the future!

Special Recognition
The State Department of Education recognizes Old Turnpike School as a “Star School”. This recognition was based on an identifiable specialty in the area of the “arts”. The school has almost total student engagement in the areas of instrumental and vocal music. Programs in art include training for the highly artistic as well as the average student. The school annually features a musical production that engages all eighth grade students on stage and directly integrates the parents into the development of this high quality theater. The play is a dynamic culmination of the final year of study for Tewksbury students.

In addition to the arts, Old Turnpike students excel academically. Many of our alumni continue to be accepted at the most competitive colleges and universities throughout the country. In addition, our alumni represent a notable percentage of the Voorhees National Honor Society and comprise a significant percentage of students in advanced placement and honors-level classes.
